I think whatever the album is the same number of people are going to by it. Let's face the facts...Glenn is never going to hit the big time. He could have done if he'd been straight throughout the '80s but unfortunately it was not to be.

Bearing this in mind wouldn't the 'true' fans, who are the ones going to buy the music, be treated to an album that Glenn actually likes ?

I can't think of anything more sad and pathetic than an artist recording 'hard rock' solely to satisfy the appetites of his apparent "audience to be".

Obviously the people marketing Glenn associate his success with Deep Purple. Sadly Purple have a reputation as a metal band. People therefore equate Glenn with heavy metal where in reality if they actually bothered to listen to the music he played in Trapeze, the direction he tried to take Purple too and the music he played on "Play Me Out" they would realize that he is a soul man with funk and hard rock influences.

Now, if you are going to invest in Glenn you obviously want the money to work. I would suggest that letting the artist record an album he believes in is far more likely to work than forcing an artist to do music he doesn't believe in.

You certainly don't resurrect an artists career by making him do something he doesn't believe in. Addiction proved that point already.

Anyway I'll be buying the album whatever and I hope that the 'rock' turns out to be of the "You are the Music" variety and not the "Addiction" variety.

Come on Glenn. Listen to your fans. We love your funk and soul as much as you do. Afterall We are the music, you're just the band.
