Glenn started the New Year and Millenium off with a bang, by announcing the creation of Pink Cloud Records, with his close friend and business partner, Ken Ciancimino. The first fruit of that labor was Incense And Peaches, a collection of orignal tracks either unreleased entirely or different variations on a previously released title. Funky stuff! Later in the year it was followed by a Christmas album from Glenn, aptly titled, A Soulful Christmas.

On the tradational album front, Glenn released his 7th solo album, Return Of Crystal Karma or R.O.C.K. This also included a Bonus CD with Live material taken from the brief 1999 tour of South America.

Further session material was made available from releases by Erik Norlander's Into The Sunset, Dario Mollo's Voodoo Hill, Tidewater Grain's Here On The Outside and Craig Erikson's Shine.

To end the year out, Glenn toured Japan with his good friend, Joe Lynn Turner, playing bass and trading a song or two!

He left the biggest event of the year to last - his Wedding! Just hours after leaving the stage of the London Astoria 2, he was headed back home to get married just 2 days later, to his fiancee, Gabrielle Dotson!

From a musical standpoint, the highlight of the year came when he performed his and Deep Purple's classic song Burn, live on-stage at the Mark & Brian Christmas Radio show in Los Angeles, with fellow ex-Purple vocalist, David Coverdale. It had been 24 years since they had sung together. It was a special moment for the fans, but more so for them.

Glenn kicked off the New Year with an appearance at the annual NAMM industry event that takes place in Anaheim, California. Aside from an appearance at the Vigier Guitars booth, he played a live show with Ronnie Montrose and band at The Phoenix Club, hosted by Baker Guitars. They played a 4 song set. Even more exciting, Glenn and Gabrielle provided fans a great opportunity to win a VIP Pass through a Competition hosted by both The Glenn Hughes Picture Gallery and his official web site, glennhughes.com . A few lucky winners attended the show and had the chance to meet both Glenn and Gabrielle.

Glenn finally pulled off a US Tour, his first - despite only managing 3 shows in New Jersey, Virginia and New York - it was an overwhelming success. His US fans gave him an outpouring of love, support and requests to come back soon! Again he chose a trio format for his line-up, this time changing gears, taking the powerhouse, Brian Tichy on drums and George Nastos on guitar.

An eventful European Tour came to a welcome end during the early Summer, plagued by poor venue equipment, cancellations and catching the flu! Despite these problems, Glenn gave each show his all and audiences went home happy and clamoring for more. This outing took him to Spain, UK, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Sweden and Finland.

September saw the release of a new studio album, Building The Machine. An elegant and masterful release, with some saying it's possibly his best ever. The reviews were outstanding and the general opinion is, it could be the big one!!

September also brought Glenn back together with his Voices of Classic Rock pals in order to benefit the victims of recent world events. A release, Voices of America is due soon featuring Glenn on some of the included American patriotic anthems.

2001 - Glenn in South America with his Voices of Classic Rock pal - Joe Lynn Turner

In early November a crueling 2 week tour of South America with the Voices of Classic Rock took him to Brazil, Peru and Bolivia! Following shortly thereafter he headed out to Russia on a solo tour which took him to Moscow and St.Petersburg. December saw Glenn provide another Voices of Classic Rock appearance in Las Vegas, but a Voices of Classic Rock solo appearance in Orlando, Florida in mid-December was unfortunately cancelled, due to ill health, which is not surprising after a such a hectic travel schedule just days & weeks before!

2001 - Glenn in Russia

Glenn wasted no time kicking off the New Year with January Voices of Classic Rock appearances in a week long, special event in Maui, Hawaii. Amongst the events was a live ROCKLINE radio broadcast and an all-hands Grand Finale performance which ended the week's festivities featuring all the Voices.

VinaRock - 2004
May was also the month that GLENN, Chad and JJ headed back into the Studio to begin recording the new solo album. It's not due out until 2005, but due to Chad's hectic schedule for the rest of the year, this was the only time to get it done! But before that, it was off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to play another show at the Sammy Hagar owned night club, Cabo Wabo. An excellent set was played featuring songs from David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and The Kinks just to name a few!!
Cabo Wabo - 2004
June saw the release of the second album from Voodoo Hill - the project that GLENN began with Italian guitar maestro, Dario Mollo back in 2000. This follow up album is considerably heavier, more metal than hard rock, but GLENN as always, pulls off some incredible vocals and it's not too often you'll probably hear him sing in that style!
Voodoo Hill - Wild Seed Of Mother Earth - 2004
June also saw GLENN play a couple of live shows - one at the House Of Blues in Orlando, Florida and also a rock festival in Santiago, Chile as special guest of Rata Blanca at the Clasicos Del Rock Chile 2004!

September was a very special month as it saw the very first DVD release from GLENN. In addition, an accompanying Double-CD audio package was issued - both featuring the live performance that was recorded earlier in the year in Van Nuys, California. Soulfully Live In The City Of Angels also featured a new studio track that made it's debut on this release, The Healer - an acoustic number written and performed solo by GLENN.

Also keeping GLENN busy was an appearance with various rock luminaries at the premiere of the Queen stage show, We Will Rock You in Las Vegas. GLENN performed on stage with Brian May and Roger Taylor for a few songs. Another special event took place later in the month when GLENN was joined by both current and former Red Hot Chili Peppers members, Dave Navarro and Chad Smith for the video shot of the title track from the album that GLENN will have released in Spring 2005 - Soul Mover.
Glenn with Brian May, Dava Navarro and Chad Smith - 2004
GLENN also made a quick trip to Russia with his partner in the Hughes Turner Project, Joe Lynn Turner, for an unususal studio session! Mikhail Men, deputy mayor of Moscow, and former professional musician, enlisted their services to help in the production of a record that includes songs originally written back in the 1980's. It's expected to have a Russian only release as soon as December 2004!
Glenn and Joe Lynn Turner relaxing in a Moscow recording studio - 2004
In addition, the same month saw the official release of the Tony Iommi collaboration that took place back in 1996, The DEP Sessions. Previously available as a bootleg, known as Eighth Star. This cleaned up and remastered release proves to be a real masterpiece and maybe shows what to expect from a future project sometime. GLENN and Tony visited the UK for a press tour and were also guest hosts of a local West Midlands radio broadcast, playing some of their favourite classic rock songs!
The 1996 DEP Sessions - 2004
November and Decmeber were busy writing and recording months with Tony Iommi in England. It was announced GLENN and Tony are working on a new Hughes/Iommi album to be released in 2005 with the possibility of live dates to follow it's debut.

It was also announced that GLENN's latest album, SOUL MOVER will released on January 24th, 2005. The UK tour dates originally slated for December 2004 were rescheduled and will now take place during February 2005.

GLENN returned home triumphant from the UK & European Soul Mover Tour 2005 in early April and took a well earned rest for most of the remainder of the month, in preparation for some European festival appearances during late May, early June.

At the beginning of May, GLENN headed to the East Coast of the USA and Europe with Tony Iommi to begin a press tour in preparation of their recently announced new album, Fused, which gets a July worldwide release. A preview of their new work was also made available. Plans for a tour towards the end of the year are also in the pipeline.

In addition, GLENN announced plans to expand his own solo tour in support of Soul Mover to include dates in South America and Mexico during the Summer months. A one-off gig in Sofia, Bulgaria was unfortunatley cancelled due to bad weather, but a national TV appearance the night before more than made up for it. GLENN played 2 Deep Purple classics live in the studio on the Slavi's Show - You Keep On Moving and This Time Around. To make up for the cancelled show, GLENN and his band travelled back in July to play 3 additional dates!

Stealth - Movie Soundtrack - 2005
Aside from the new Tony Iommi album, July also saw the release of GLENN and Chad Smith's contribution to the movie soundtrack, Stealth, which includes the Moody Blues cover, Nights In White Satin.

Also making a release date in July were two Eastern European projects that GLENN had contributed to last year. First up from Czech band, Monkey Business, where he is featured singing on two songs, Weekend Warrior and Silence. Secondly, his joint collaboration with both Joe Lynn Turner and Moscow Deputy Mayor, Mikhail Men, received a Russia-only release, appropriately titled, Made In Moscow.

Private Corporate Event, USA - 2005
August saw work begin on the new solo album. JJ Marsh joined GLENN and Chad Smith in Los Angeles to begin the writing process. Also this month, an announcement of some more live gigs in support of Soul Mover in Spain and Portugal, both of which will feature Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Drums.

Prior to these European dates, GLENN made someother live appearances including a private corporate event and also a benefit concert, both of which were rare USA performances.

Phoenix Benefit Concert, USA - 2005
After a successful run of shows in Spain with Chad Smith in early October - GLENN returned the favour by joing Chad for a jam session during a drum clinc that took place at St.Andrews Hall in Norwich, England. Sponsored by the Norwich Drum Academy, it was a fully sold out event and a very unique and special evening for all in attendance.

GLENN and Chad Smith - Norwich, England - 2005
November saw GLENN spending some downtime at home and also finishing up writing for his next solo album. One of those writing sessions included another visit to Chad Smith's home where he also hooked up with another Red Hot Chili Pepper, guitarist & songwriter, John Frusciante, who has written a song to be included on the new release. Early in the New Year, JJ Marsh will join them and then into the studio to lay things down.

In March, GLENN surprised us all by revealing the title of his new solo album for the new year - Music For The Divine - will see a Summer release and will feature the duo of Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante and Chad Smith guesting on guitar and drums, with the latter also taking up the helm as co-producer.
